Carlin: What was Orlando Anderson Fight About

My friend and co-author Michael Carlin has some strong beliefs. I believe this too. We believe that this is in fact Reggie Senior at the MGM. Why not? A simple wave of a badge and "I'm from Compton PD, and this young man is from Compton. You do not have to worry about it Vegas PD, because we will deal with him back in Compton..."

On a fight night you know Vegas PD are up to their armpits with action. Anytime (especially when a witness does not want to press charges) they can cut a situation loose without travelling down to the station, they are still in play and not sidelined- better for the city.

So if that is Wright Sr. escorting Anderson away, it explains a lot.

I am also going to clear something up even before you read the article: Tupac being set up to leverage him from leaving Death Row (spoiler: the article says that Orlando Anderson was staged because everyone knew Tupac had a temper and he would be all jacked up after the fight "50 Blows! 50 Blows" he said in the dressing room hyper as hell.

According to Shock G, Money B, Jimi Dright and Atron Gregory, Tupac needed no setup to provoke a fight; he had instigated a fight many times all on his own. It was genius, I must say, to just channel all that Tupac energy into beating someone up.

Which is also Felony Battery- a parole violation.

And as you read this article, the thought that Death Row was trying to control Tupac's freedom by having something to do with hanging Tupac's probation over his head. Listen to the words of Reggie Wright Jr. himself about it:

By Michael Douglas Carlin

By now we have seen that Reggie Wright Sr. is on the MGM Tape. He is supervising the interrogation of Orlando Anderson. That indicates that the fight was staged but why?

Tupac had already fired David Kenner and according to Reggie Wright Jr. he had been fired too. Suge told Reggie to knock it off and stop playing games with the security in Las Vegas but clearly Reggie's feelings were hurt.

This is pure speculation about the incidents that night. But it is all based upon things we know. There was a file in the Death Row Seizure by police that had Orlando Anderson's name on it. He was being paid for something, that much we know.
Reggie Wright Sr. as captured on the MGM Video

If Tupac was leaving Death Row Records, and we have lots of evidence of that, how does a record label let a cash-cow walk out the door? Truth is they employ all means to keep that cash-cow happy and recording on their label. When we look at Death Row Records tactics we know that Suge Knight used an artist's vulnerability with the law against him when it came to contract time. Snoop Dogg was signed a day after his arrest for murder. Tupac was signed while he was getting his twice daily cavity searches in Dannemora Prison. That contract was prepared September 15, 1995 and signed by Suge Knight and was signed by Tupac Shakur on September 16, 1995. Completion of the three albums called for in that contract were coming to a close and there was at best a renegotiation happening and at worst Tupac leaving the label.

The charade being played on Tupac was the staged fight at the MGM. The evidence is all there. You can see Reggie Wright Jr. on the tape hiding behind a woman from the cameras as he walks by. They were aware of the cameras and knew the fight would be caught on the surveillance tape. Reggie Wright Jr. leaves with Orlando Anderson at the conclusion of his interrogation. But again why stage the fight?
Last Photo of Tupac. Does he look happy? Suge was most likely renegotiating with Tupac as shots rang out.

Suge was known to use leverage to keep his artists in check. He used the legal defense of Snoop against him to keep Snoop generating revenue for Death Row Records. Snoop owed over five million dollars for that defense and was personally receiving very little of the money he earned in order to pay Death Row Records back for that debt.

Beyond the hand-written contract there was little to no leverage on Tupac. They needed to create leverage. The staged Orlando Anderson fight was their attempt to create that leverage. Trevon whispered something into the ear of Tupac and he took the bait and began the scuffle. At the time Tupac was out of prison pending an appeal. Getting involved in a scuffle would clearly send him back to prison. There were no charges filed and Orlando Anderson was released to go about his business - the people supervising the incident saw to that. The tape was probably collected by someone related to Kenner or Wright that night to use as leverage against Tupac.

The MGM tape was entered into evidence in Suge's hearings on the probation violation by David Kenner not by the prosecution as is customary. In fact, all of the testimony came from Compton Police... even the statements acquired by Las Vegas Police were entered into evidence by the Compton Police headed up by Reggie Wright Sr. Frank Alexander's statement was of particular interest because what Kenner read to Alexander on the recorded telephone call is far different from the actual statement made by Alexander to Brent Becker. Somehow it was altered from the time Frank made it to the time it was entered into evidence. Alexander is warned to "not get subpoenaed" by Reggie Wright Jr. or it could have serious consequences to him and his family. When they couldn't kill Suge they were all working hard to send him away and he was not aware of his new "pawn" status until many years later.

But most likely Suge was aware of the staged Orlando Anderson fight as a ploy to renegotiate with Tupac. Suge rushes Tupac away from the Mike Tyson fight for a reason. The Orlando Anderson incident happens and then they all get to the house of Suge for a reset. Tupac is asked to ride with Suge alone so they can discuss Tupac's future. Tupac is probably told he needs to remain at Death Row Records or that fight he was just caught in on videotape will be used by the authorities to send him back to prison. Suge probably told him that Kenner already had the tape and Tupac could determine his fate by playing along or he could be turned back over to the authorities who all had an axe to grind with Tupac. Look at the last image of Tupac. He doesn't look very happy. He looks like his entire life has been turned upside down.

What Suge and Tupac didn't know that night was that there was another plan at work that had them in the cross-hairs, in the same car, without any bodyguards, and without any guns. Both of them were set to die.

  1. It's strange how the Murder Rap people seems to know everything about this case but has stayed away from answering the question on who exactly that guy is walking away with Orlando. He wasn't security and definitely wasn't one of Orlando's gang buddies.. They say it's not Reggie Wright but refuse to say who he is.. I'm sticking with Tupac187

  2. Exactly they avoid it like the plague, it is Reggie Jr leading Orlando away while Reggie Wright snr , his father watched.David Kenner is also in front of Reggie Wright snr during the "questioning of Orlando" he pointed as Reggie Jr came into the scene and went up to Orlando. They were waiting for his arrival.

  3. My question is who is the guy in the red cap with the blue jacket. Also doesnt the guy in the muscle shirt look like Robert Soria?

  4. And another thing. Y'all noticed Murder Rap spent more time trying to debunk Russell Poole's theory but stayed away from the Tupac Assassination/Reggie Wright Jr involvment theory?? There's a lot of proof in Assassination linking Reggie and they know this.. Not to mention the proof Death Row Records had paid Orlando Anderson off for something

  6. Yes they tried as hard as they can to "disprove" Russell yet nothing was actually disproved. It just showed how far they will go to cover up the truth and reinforced that it is a cover up.Why would LATIMES print amir Muhammad's photo if it would taint the investigation? Obviously it was done to taint the investigation. They didn't mention nothing about Reggie , all he said is he could kill PAC anywhere. That was a disaster , a criminal physiologist would have a field day watching murder rap.Greg kadings attempt at laughing when mentioning the civil case was terribly forced and visible to viewers he is a plain faced liar. What I wanted to see is Reggie Wright Jr's statement, I want to see the immunity Greg kading let him sign.I want to read his statement, because he has admitted he is an accessory to murder by signing the cheque that was used to kill biggie. So to give him immunity after suges baby mama is forced to sign a confession under duress that she took the cheque and it was for her, was laughable and shocking at the same time, they are making the chips fall where they please, even hard evidence can vanish because they can force people to accept blame under the threat of jail or worse. It was like a PR release to protect Reggie and LAPD and attempt to deflect everything away from any cop involvement (Reggie included). They didn't mention anything about Reggie that night or his actions, they just had him rolling his eyes around and saying "we could kill him anywhere" and letting out a fake attempt at a laugh which really is a sign of guilt, then when he is mentioning controlling Tupac, you could see him suddenly change to be very serious and sinister, the ill person just came out, when talking about controlling and sending PAC to jail if he doesn't conform. I don't know what the documentry makers were thinking but when producing a dvd to hide involvement of somebody who is so out there and oblivious to his pyscopath personality being so obvious , do not let him start talking about killing PAC and being capable to do so anywhere and anyplace on camera then choose that to be in the doc. That doesn't help his "innocence" act. But in his head or some very sick people it was a good idea for him to say that on camera.I guess it was his decision.

  7. Sonny, I agree with your assessment 100%, and had not put as much thought (admittedly) into how really lame how self-indicting Wright comes off in this movie. He has said that many times in print, and Michael (Carlin) picked up on the inference. "Yeah we have no problem killing someone and would happily do it, we just would not do it this way.

Let's be honest: the reason that crooks often get caught (and it does not take a cop to figure this out) is because a) they love to talk about what they did, and b) the trip up and make mistakes. Police interrogations are all based on this premise; they know that given time, the people who are withholding information generally slip up in their story as they have a hard time keeping the story straight.

I still have not heard about where the hidden gun compartment in the rental car came from. Not an option when I rent a car...

  8. Well, I give Michael Dorsey (the guy who pieced this tin can tapestry together) credit for making a purse out of a sow's ear. He genuinely had nothing to work with. None of Shady's fellow cops would back him on camera, except Cooper, and he was only there to disagree with Poole. So where they could have DECIMATED with interview after interview with cops going on camera and saying "we had our man but he got away" but alas no one would back Shady up. On the other hand we had Brent Becker who interviewed twice for us simply because he and Frank knew each other and he vouched for Frank's credibility. Where was Bobby Ladd? Where was Tim Brennan?

The second piece of this was getting anyone to stand up for Wright. You would have thought that perhaps one bodyguard that worked for him would have said "well, he's not all that bad a guy..." Never happened. Probably looking back on bridges burned. Bomb craters more like.

Look, I could have done 10 "Tupac Assassinations" if I just wanted to interview Frank and a couple of guys. If I wanted to repeat the same story over and over again it would be easy.

I have always said "story is first", and refused to do a third movie until the "story was there"; there has to be something to convey to the viewer. I saw so little of that in Murder Rap it was senseless.

    a) The movie has no idea who its audience is. No one cares who Russ Poole is unless they understand why what he had to say was (and is) still honored by many. They failed because there is not enough time in a DVD to do that right.

    b) Start by telling your own story, and then contrast it. Do not start your picture by putting someone else down. It comes off too defensive. Your team should be better players, no reason to try to win by trying to hobble the others. Just be a better team.

    c) There just is no raw material to work with, because (in my opinion) the "evidence" Shady K brings is covered with other fingerprints (for example, the Keith Davis Interview cover sheet was labelled under the "Jerry Hawkins" investigation. (??) So IMO he can;t simply show the evidence straight out because his information is derived. Keefe D says they told him the conversation is not being recorded. Maybe that statement is on the recording (Shady gave police lying a phrase, I think it was a "ruse") So maybe this "Ruse" was to lie to Davis and tell him he wasn't being recorded to get him to talk. And when Shady releases the entire unedited interview tape (which he will never do) only then will it be obvious that the entire ordeal was legit on any level. (FYI I do not believe in entrapment at any level.)

    1. They are standing opposite Reggie sr, watching Orlando also.Soon as Reggie Jr leads away Orlando they follow. The guy who is behind them with the baseball cap is also seen earlier putting his hands on one of the guys shoulders so they are together. He looks like he is blowing into his hand(fist)at one stage, it could mean he is communicating with a wire held in his hand, could be FBI watching or it could be these guys are involved in the plan. What is even more strange is the guy with the cap is wearing the same jacket as the man standing to the left and looking to left just when the CCTV shows PAC & Orlando fighting. My opinion is FBI or cops in on the plan.

    1. They must have got it from the "pimp my murder vehicle ride" rental service. Zips a really nice guy is he not? just becomes involved in a murder at the drop of whim, gives them his gun. Doesn't care if his prints on it, doesn't have a second thought about any comebacks later for his actions.Just a "stone cold gangster" LoL. This man was "down to ride" didn't he say "y'all need help" Keefe d replied "we got this" Smh. Then after the "murder" the car is parked very close to the murder scene and the gun was left on the wheel. Gloves were not used in the shooting, I wonder if Keefe d was really careful rubbing his gun to clean his and Orlandos prints off before just placing the murder weapon aswell as the murder vehicle just next to the crime scene. So the White cad was parked just next to the crime scene and hundreds of cops did not spot it.According to Greg kading these fairy tales actually happened."bang bang anywhere gang" stories do not cut the mustard.Murder rap left out disarming or guards.Leaving Frank alone on PAC and Michael Moore being removed. The mysterious separation of PAC & the outlawz at the MGM.The calls to michael moores room. The "got em" the "don't say nothing over the radio" the lies Reggie told Frank to say.The murder of kadafi. The MGM CCTV footage showing the 3 amigos Reggie Wright Jr and Reggie Wright sr and David Kenner. I could go on and on.

  11. as far as I know Reggie wright jr was never skinny he was also a big guy he just got fatter over the years so how can that be him walking with the lady and then leaving with orlando? I think some of us are forgetting that rampart cops were present. the closest figure to the man in the white suit to me is harry billup or kevin gaines. thought it was keefe d but how can he have walked past orlando without noticing him at first.it was surely staged in eyes.

  13. A few questions for R.J. Bond if you have a moment to please answer them.

    1. Suge was on parole at the same time Tupac was out on bail pending his appeal. So, wouldn't Tupac know that Suge couldn't use that video against him since it would also indict him in the felony assault and send him to prison as well?

    2. I've read (not sure if accurate) that Tupac was standing out of the sun roof and rapping and yelling to girls on the street as they drove down Las Vegas Blvd. The man who took that last photo of Tupac alive, told the story of the photo. He said he looked over and realized it was Tupac (who he'd met a few times a couple years back). He asked Pac if he could take a photo and Tupac said "yeah." He claims Pac invited him to 662, so he cancelled his to-go order at California Pizza Kitchen and got into the entourage. He said the police confiscated his camera but released it to him later after realizing it had nothing of importance on it (they realized there was nothing in the photo that could be used in solving the crime). Long story short, was Pac somber the entire ride because of the conversation inside the car, or was he happy and dancing and rapping as they traveled down the strip?

  15. Hi Kenny,

The threat of prison to Tupac was greater than the likelihood of Knight getting time. Remember before it all went sideways Knight was in pretty good with Longo and that pretty well insulated him. Besides they would have called into New York and New York gave a crap about Knight.

Second question: Tupac did not want to go to Vegas. He told Moore and Alexadner in Vegas that he didn't want to be there even when he was there. He said it was all "bullshit", because Knigth told him not that they were going to talk business and Knight was nowhere to be found and arrived late to the fight. Tupac wanted to go to the fight but agreed to come (according to witnesses who spoke with him right before the trip) to settle the fallout from the Sept 4th argument. Lastly, if Tupac were clowning like that, in the 10 years I interviewed Alexander and we went through things a thousand times, he never ever mentioned that Tupac was anywhere but in the car. Somber was exactly the mood, especially if you factor that the one thing he was happy about (being in Tyson's dressing room) he was pulled from for no apparent reason to him (we believe we know now why)
